Misc thoughts
|
You know you’ve got a lot on your mind when you can stick your hands wrist deep into a sinkful of wet, leftover mac and cheese, and fish out all the dirty silverware from the day, and not gag.
My 4 yr old son Jack is the king of saying things that surprise me. Mostly unrelated to anything that’s going on and usually unrelated to reality. This morning while I tried to get my last hour of sleep, knowing that I work tonight and how important that sleep is, Jack came in my room and wanted to watch Snow White on my tv.
“Whatever,” I slurred.
After what seemed like 30 minutes of making sure it was rewound, and jostling himself around on the bed, I felt him moving around one last time. I rolled over and asked him what he was doing.
He held up his little stuffed Christmas ornaments of Joque and Gus Gus (the mice from Cinderella).
“I had to get my broders,” (translated ‘brothers’ in Jack speak)
I’m not sure that I said anything back, just nodded as usual while he confirmed the fact that these were his brothers and he needed them up by his head while he watched Snow White.
OK, then. |
